Install telemetry
Omnia Core sends an anonymous install report every 24 hours. This page lists every field it contains, what it never contains, and the transport.
Turning it off
Section titled “Turning it off”See Disable install telemetry.
| Setting | Value | Effect |
|---|---|---|
Helm value telemetry.enabled | true (default) | Renders OMNIA_TELEMETRY_ENABLED on the operator Deployment. |
Environment variable OMNIA_TELEMETRY_ENABLED | unset | Telemetry is enabled. |
| a value that parses as true | Telemetry is enabled. | |
| any other set value | Telemetry is disabled. |
No feature is gated on telemetry.
Seeing your own payload first
Section titled “Seeing your own payload first”See Inspect the telemetry payload.
| Flag | Effect |
|---|---|
/manager --print-telemetry | Builds the report with the same code path as the periodic reporter, prints it as JSON on stdout and exits. Sends nothing and persists no state. Prints the install’s enabled or disabled state on stderr. |
What is sent
Section titled “What is sent”Identity
Section titled “Identity”| Field | Type | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
cluster_fingerprint | string | SHA-256 of the kube-system namespace UID and the UID of the namespace Omnia is installed into, truncated to the first 16 bytes and sent as 32 hex characters. Stable across node replacement and etcd restore; changes if the cluster is destroyed and recreated. It is not reversible to a cluster name, an IP, or an organisation. |
license_id | string | Only present on licensed installs. Omitted entirely (not sent as "") for unregistered ones. |
version | string | The operator’s --product-version flag, which the Helm chart sets to the chart’s appVersion. dev when the flag is not set: a kustomize install, or /manager --print-telemetry run without --product-version. |
Install shape
Section titled “Install shape”| Field | Type | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
chart_version | string | From the operator Deployment’s helm.sh/chart label. Empty for a non-Helm install. |
k8s_version | string | Kubernetes version. |
k8s_distro | string | Parsed from the Kubernetes gitVersion string: gke, eks, k3s, rke2 or unknown. |
install_method | string | helm or kustomize. |
arch | string | GOARCH of the operator process. |
The report has no cloud-provider field. See How install telemetry is bounded.
| Field | Type | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
agent_runtimes | int | Count of AgentRuntime objects. |
workspaces | int | Count of Workspace objects. |
prompt_packs | int | Count of PromptPack objects. |
Counts only, never names. Every count and every list below includes hidden
objects, those labelled omnia.altairalabs.ai/hidden: "true". See
Hidden resources.
Feature reach
Section titled “Feature reach”| Field | Type | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
crd_kinds | []string | Which of nine core kinds have at least one object: AgentRuntime, MemoryPolicy, PromptPack, Provider, ScheduledFunction, SessionRetentionPolicy, SkillSource, ToolRegistry, Workspace. Enterprise kinds are not listed here. Kind names only. |
facade_types | []string | The set of spec.facades[].type values in use: websocket, a2a, rest, mcp, custom. |
provider_types | []string | Provider types, never model names, endpoints or credentials. |
ee_feature_crds_present | []string | Enterprise feature slugs. A slug appears when at least one object of the matching Kind exists: arena (ArenaJob), rolloutAnalysis, toolPolicy, sessionPrivacyPolicy. |
ee_feature_crds_present measures presence, not use. See
Presence is not use.
What is never sent
Section titled “What is never sent”None of the following leaves your cluster:
- Agent, workspace, pack, namespace or cluster names
- Prompt, message, session or tool-call content
- Credentials, API keys, or provider secrets
- Provider endpoints or model names (the provider type is sent; the model is not)
- IP addresses, hostnames, or user identities
- Free text typed into a CRD
See How install telemetry is bounded for the rule that governs the payload.
Transport
Section titled “Transport”| Endpoint | POST https://license.altairalabs.ai/v1/reports |
| Interval | Every 24 hours, after an initial delay of 1 minute |
| Failure behaviour | Logged at debug level and dropped. Never retried, never queued, and it can never affect operator availability. |
The operator sends the report. No other Omnia service sends it.
Registering
Section titled “Registering”An unregistered install prints this once per operator start:
========================================================================Omnia Core — this install is not registered.Register for release notes and security advisories: https://altairalabs.ai/r/<fingerprint>Anonymous install metrics are sent every 24h.Disable with --set telemetry.enabled=falseFull schema: https://omnia.altairalabs.ai/reference/platform/telemetry/========================================================================See How install telemetry is bounded for what registering changes.
